their influence on the environment on an annual basis.

The Adelaide Botanic Garden is close to the city centre and makes for a pleasant stroll. The rows of aged trees, the Sacred Lotus pond and a Victorian Palm House all add to this humbling experience. The Bicentennial Conservatory houses tropical plants and is recognised on a global scale for its superior offerings.

The Mount Lofty Botanic Garden features a hills garden on the slope of the Mount Lofty Mountain. The ferns, Magnolias, Lilacs and tall stringybarks are breath-taking in their natural beauty. This garden does not only accommodate local plants, but also some from South America, New Zealand, East Africa, China and North America. The National Species Rose Collection can be found in this particular botanic garden as can the Woodland Garden.

The Wittunga Botanic Garden displays an interesting combination of Australian and southern African plants. This creates an eclectic mix of seasonal blooms that is both enthralling and fascinating in its diversity. The lawns next to the lake make for perfect picnic spots for the family to soak up some warm summer sunshine.

The Botanic Gardens of Adelaide are tourist hotspots for many reasons, not least of all their sheer natural allure. Visitors to South Australia are urged to spend some time taking in the colours, aromas and textures of some of the world’s most beautiful plant life.
