TASMANIA Sealife Experience

Sealife Experience Tasmania runs several tours of the waters and parks in and around Tasmania. These are called the Tasman Island Eco Adventure Tours and are managed and run in cooperation with the Tasman National Park. These tours are designed to expose this destination’s natural beauty and enthralling appeal.

Tasmania is characterised by dolerite cliffs towering 300 metres over the turquoise ocean below and dented with sizeable caves, silent testifiers of the millions of years of evolution and erosion that formed them.

The Tasman Island Tour is a 3-hour excursion of the wild coastal area as well as an insightful peek into

some of the local fauna and flora. Boat trips into the sea showcase the Tasmanian coastline in all of its splendour and magical allure. This tour involves an exploration of the sea caves and underwater cliffs that set this stunning island apart from many others in terms of tourist attractions and natural beauty.

The ample sea water is home to an equally sizeable number of fish- and mammal species. These are spotted from the boat; however, underwater cameras with a direct feed to an on-board screen allow passengers to view the animals and plants that are beneath the boat in their natural habitat. These frequently include kelp forests, seals, abalone, dolphins and even Southern Right and Humpback whales!

One of the most popular tours is the Little Penguins excursion. As visitors relax on the Tasman Peninsula beach, they watch in awe as hundreds of birds scurry in unison to feed their chicks. This takes place as the sun is setting over the Australian island, making for a memorable and exciting experience.

The boat tours run by Sealife Experience investigate several awesome sites - Tasman Island, Port Arthur, Cape Hauy, Cape Pillar, The Totem Pole, and The Candle Stick. The guides have been trained and provide succinct information about the land masses, water, animals, plants and history in a typically fun and friendly Australian way. Tours are personalised and the questions and comments of the passengers form the basis of the information provided, in addition to the prepared repertoire of the presentation.
