WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Western Australia is characterised by its unspoilt natural abundance, its beauty and its hospitable residents. Sunny days are best enjoyed experiencing the fauna and flora of this area or learning more about its rich cultural heritage. In fact, Western Australia is acclaimed for its long sunny days. The sheer diversity that exists within this state sets it apart from many other destinations the world over. The sparkling blue waters of the ocean are juxtaposed by red expanses of the sandy Outback and the fertile vegetation of the south.

The stunning beaches are ideal for water sports enthusiasts or for travellers and locals seeking an oasis of relaxation. There are also opportunities to experience the marine animals “hands on”. Certain operators allow

one to dive with whale sharks and manta rays and swim with the intelligent dolphins, whose antics amuse and entertain young and old alike. This area is listed among the world’s top 10 in terms of marine biodiversity, and is home to the most southerly coral reefs on the planet.

The capital city of Western Australia is Perth. Of the state’s 2.2 million residents, 85% live in the relatively small south-west area. Ken Michael is the current Governor, elected by Queen Elizabeth II. Interestingly, Western Australia makes up approximately one-third of the entire area of the continent, but is home to only 10% of the Australian population. This gives it a distinct sense of space and isolation; a welcome change from bustling city life as many know it.

Visitors to Western Australia are advised to visit the Swan River, Kings Park, ample beaches, gorgeous wine farms and the awe-inspiring rural lifestyle of the Outback. Being an area of such ample variety, Western Australia ensures that the unique desires and needs of each visitor are catered to in true “Down Under” style and hospitality.
